So you purchased a nice European car. BMW? Mercedes? Porsche? Like many people, you probably want to baby the car, take care of it, and make sure it looks and performs in a manner that fits the reputation European cars have. And when it’s time to take it in for maintenance, you spare no expense and take it to the dealer.
Sound accurate so far? After all, you paid a lot, why not receive the best care and service money can buy.
What if there was a higher quality, better option out there for your vehicle’s maintenance? What if it was less expensive? What if this option had better experienced technicians for your make and model vehicle than the dealer? Taking it a step further; what if you didn’t even have to drive all the way to the dealership to receive this type of service? Forget the “what ifs.” The answer lies in your backyard with Euro Motors located at 6663 Narcoossee Road north of SR 528.
Euro Motors is a family-owned business that specializes in personalized, concierge maintenance and service for all European cars ranging from the luxury brands of BMW and Mercedes Benz to the exotics of Ferrari and Lamborghini.
Husband and wife team Adrian and Sindy Munoz own and operate Euro Motors and focus on detailed, quality service that dealerships cannot provide. Speaking from many years of working in European car dealerships, Adrian explains that many times dealer sales representatives and technicians receive commission from maintenance and service revenue. This results in the sales representatives recommending that the customer have parts replaced that still have life. Additionally, Adrian described that dealership technicians are under pressure to complete a targeted amount of maintenance and repairs per day. This revenue-volume focused model results in technicians rushing through repairs and missing details that a more quality customer-based model would catch.
Most car owners know and understand that it is vitally important to have their car’s oil changed on a regular basis. Adrian further expressed how important oil changes are and stated regardless of the instructions of the oil company, a car should receive an oil change every 5,000 to 6,000 miles. Routine oil changes result in higher performance of the car’s engine, better fuel economy, and less maintenance.
Adrian further explained that the brand of oil used is extremely important as well. Each European imported car has a recommended oil that should be used, however the American dealerships do not use this oil. Per Adrian, dealerships partner with American oil companies to brand certain oils as a specific car’s oil. For instance, Castrol has an agreement with the American BMW dealerships for their oil to be BMW oil. Adrian educates all Euro Motors customers that each car company has a unique oil brand and type usually from the country of origin that the car is from, and both the engine and oil are specifically designed to be used together. This oil has a higher quality because the materials it was formulated with are known and precisely tested with the car’s engine when the engine was being designed. Most American product oils do not list the ingredients, so it’s impossible to tell if it is even compatible for specific engines. Adrian indicated that the use of the wrong oils has the same effect as not completing oil changes in time.
The Munoz family prides itself on educating customers about their car. This information is confidentially provided due to the specific training all Euro Motors technicians have. For example, Adrian attended a six-month course in Beverly Hills, Calif., to obtain the proper hands-on and classroom education to service Ferraris.
